Re: $16: Why would I fold a pair...
what hand do you think that has me beat that flats the flop and bets the turn? also if he made river 450 or something i'd have PROBABLY folded.

Re: $16: Why would I fold a pair...
my read was he liked to limp low suited aces utg and then float flops with gutshots, and then try and bluff them on later streets. thats why i called.

Re: $16: Why would I fold a pair...
Even with read, I think I can let this go on the turn often enough, as he's limping low pps here as well, and don't forget the dreaded 69s. I'm not giving him credit for a set here, as I think this type of donk is typically going to bet turn small and river big.
I'm usually just checking this flop, however, as he's obviously aggro and we have a pretty weak piece of this board, and I don't wanna get taken to valuetown with a pair of 5s. |

Re: $16: Why would I fold a pair...
i'd actually check/fold flop and for sure check/fold turn. i really dont want to get involved in such a marginal spot.
i dont try to do too much hand reading or make too much sense out of unknown players, because their range can be so wide. even when you have stats on someone after 50 hands and he is 20/5 or something it seems his range can still be pretty wide. and trying to make sense out of them flatting the flop is next to impossible. |
