River play with AA in big pot...
I'm 9 hands in to this table. No reads except after 9 hands, UTG+1 is 91/0 and MP1, after 40 hands, is 20/5 with a 0.3 AF postflop. As will become obvious, the table seems a little loose.
I think pre, flop and turn are standard, though I 'd welcome comments. The main question in my mind is do I raise or call river? Villain (UTG1) has been passive all the way through the hand, calling every raise, but on the river, heads up, bets. My thought was that he'd easily try a bluff here, but his range could also include a hand that beat me. So call down, or raise? Re: River play with AA in big pot...
You don't need to have the best hand very often to call here, so do that.

Re: River play with AA in big pot...
Call.
Obviously you aren't folding. The reason why you don't raise is because if villain is bluffing, he's not paying off your raise. If he has a 6 (which is sort of what he's representing), he's 3-betting and you'll be forced to call because the pot is gigantic. I will grant that sometimes he has something idiotic like KJ that he should know isn't good but doesn't and you'll feel mildly stupid for just calling, but considering his overall range (6s, bluffs, oddly-played Ks) I don't there's a lot of value in a raise. |

Re: River play with AA in big pot...
So no-one thinks calling here is MUBS? Looking at it again. The only card I can see him beating me with is a 6, as he's not playing at all like KK or lower set...
The point that you are facing a 3 bet if you're behind is right, so I suppose the question is, how often are we looking at a six (result-2bb), a hand good enough for a crying call to the raise (prob a Kx/QQ/JJ/10s) (result +1bb) and bluff (result 0bb) |

Re: River play with AA in big pot...
What hands with a 6 in them get past pre-flop? I'd be more worried about a weirdly played KK than crap-6.

Re: River play with AA in big pot...
We know with 100% certainty that villain has misplayed his hand one way or another. I expect that our hand is good most of the time, so I sympathize with OP's instinct to stick in one last raise. I just don't think we can rule out A6 (or 65 for that matter) so easily.

Re: River play with AA in big pot...
Well, I might well be being influenced by the results (in white).
I called, Villain showed A4 clubs, which shows A) he's crazy. B) his starting hand range and calling capabilities were pretty... wide. |

Re: River play with AA in big pot...
My advice based on the result (also in white).
Take a note that he donked the river on a broken gutshot. Remember this the next time he donks the river. |

[ QUOTE ]
What hands with a 6 in them get past pre-flop? [/ QUOTE ] Answer: the ATC that mr 91/0 plays for multiple bets preflop because that is the way he rolls I go for the river overcall rather than risk a 3 bet |
