[ QUOTE ]
ersonally, I think he has some stake in seeing the online twoplustwoers beating the publicly acclaimed live dino-sours. Any other opinions as to his motivation other than a form of trolling... [/ QUOTE ] Yep, agree with this. I think David's motivations are that he gets some form of validation from the idea that he played a part behind online players being so good. I mean, from his perspective, if he wrote the books that helped all the top online players become good enough to beat out live players that have been grinding for decades, i'm sure that's something he gets gratification over. I've seen him mention before in older threads that he likes seeing his theories proven correct... so i'm guessing to him, online poker is just proof that all his poker theories he's been writing about for years have been correct, and the reason why it's now evident is because online you can actually get in sample sizes large enough to prove it. He used to get flamed on the old RGP boards by some other live pros like DN and Howard Lederer I believe... so for him to be able to say he was a catalyst in spawning some of the greatest poker players in the world probably feels good. What probably went down is he got into a debate with some live player that insulted his methods/theories and instead of posting on 2+2 "Hey guys tell this guy I was arguing with why you guys are better than him and his 30 year nit live grinder friends" he just decided to play devil's advocate to invoke the same type of discussion that just debates his side for him. |

Is Brandon Adams not considered an online player? I know that he crushed online for a long while. Certainly he is in the top 20 of cash game players at the moment and I know that Kenny has mad respect for Brandon's game.

He's lost in omaha, just like most of his top NLH peers.

online is longer than just this year. I know Brandon wouldn't be where he is at without online poker. That is where he started.
I doubt he really considers himself an online player but he was old school. |

I wonder if anyone would claim DS is just lookin' for attention if PA had said the opposite.

I wonder what it is in the way people operate/think that makes one more attracted to the casino lifestyle of poker as opposed to staying home grinding daily. [/ QUOTE ] Ego is surely part of it. Playing with real chips against real people in a live setting and dominating kind of validates your worth as a poker player. When you have a good day online no-one else is around to see it and you have to brag to an internet message board. It's not the same feeling. |

I want to change this number to one (myself lol) but I have feeling I wont be considered an "internet" player by the time I get to that level of stakes.
