[/ QUOTE ] Though some of us do delude ourselves into think our team is world class, most of the sensible ones realize we have a team which COULD be world class but isn't anywhere near to world class in reality. [/ QUOTE ] I don't get how anyone could argue our players are anything but world class. Goalies - OK, noone special here. A weak spot. LB - Ashley Cole, mebbe most expensive LB ever? No doubt he's WC CBs - Terry and Ferdinand. Probably the best pair in the world behind the Italians. Very, very good. RB - Gary Neville. Uncelebrated, but when can you remember him having a bad game/ [censored] up? You don't get to start every game for 15 yrs for Man U under Sir Alex if u dont have it. LM - OK, a sucky position. Still Joe Cole is no mug. CM - Lampard and Gerrard. How many countries have 2 better CMers? These guys are the real deal (for their clubs, and in CL). RM - Beckham. It was only 5 months ago that Real fkn Madrid fans were begging for him to stay. He's good. FW - Rooney - one of the best young players in the world. Should be a candidate for best player in world by 2010. FW - Owen. When he's not crocked, he's very good. Did very well at Madrid, just failing to get a regular place cos they have replaceable Raul, oh and a guy called Ronaldo. There can be no doubt that is a WC team, on paper. |
