200 NL - JJ in MP. How many mistakes did i make in this hand?
No reads. UTG has $160. Hero covers.
Hero is dealt J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in MP3. UTG raises to $5. UTG + 1 calls. MP1 calls. Hero raises to $25. UTG re-raises to $50. Hero calls. Flop ($110) T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG pushes. Hero calls. PF raise: it was between call and raise. I'm wary of these thin raises from players, especially in EP. He could have a monster or he could be a donk. But usually it is both. i think i am capable of doing both in this spot. however, this time i opted to raise. PF call: it was between call and fold. Once he raised (almost a min raise) i knew he liked his hand. But i made the call getting 3:1. Flop call: I think this was the easiest of the 3 decisions with an overpair and OESD. Thoughts on all streets are welcome. |

Re: 200 NL - JJ in MP. How many mistakes did i make in this hand?
I think your play is fine if that's how you normally play. Personally, I flat call with JJ even to a small raise like UTG's. When he re-raises you; you are probably right to call, but you have to know you're in trouble. Villain's push on the flop leads me to believe he has QQ+, therefore, you probably have 10 or so outs and around 38% equity. In my book, this is a situation where you ask yourself, "Do I feel lucky?" and click one of the buttons.

Obviously flop call is easy once you get there.
Pre-flop seems ok. |
