gross spot, $1+R to $50K guaranteed
Almost through rebuy phase. Play has been generally loose, with wide calling/betting ranges. All reads-loose. I am at an extremely soft table. My first hand, I shoved with JJ and was calld with 85 and 4Q.

Re: gross spot, $1+R to $50K guaranteed
i don't think this is very gross at all. i'd make it 2k and call a shove. you'd be getting like 8000-1 on sb's shove, and i don't think mp1's line is ever a flush after he flats the river, since he'd have to count on someone behind him raising. most players in this tournament probably think that a jack is the nuts here, so anything that doesn't involve folding is fine. and if you're wrong, you can still rebuy, which is a plus.

how is this gross?
raise it up, mp1 doesnt have a flush and if the sb does then its not the biggest loss. |

Re: gross spot, $1+R to $50K guaranteed
Yea not sure what makes this gross. I mean when you limped with 23s isn't this what you wanted? Didn't you want to make a straight or a flush? Now that you made your hand don't bow out now. Obv MP1 didn't make a flush and maybe has a J or even a just a pair. Either way I don't think you are beat here except for maybe by the SB if by some chance he did have a flush. And like the others said if he does its not the biggest loss. Add on and move on.

Re: gross spot, $1+R to $50K guaranteed
Yes, my goal was making a straight or flush with this hand, but I forgot that one person limping would start a chain, or in my mind didn't think there would be so many people to see the river. The fact that there were this many people in, shouldn't that be scary considering I have the worst possible flush?

Re: gross spot, $1+R to $50K guaranteed
If you are scared of a higher flush you can passively call this 500 bet from the SB and showdown the hands. I just think that you got what you were looking for and should raise to at least ~1750-2000. I would also call a shove from the SB. IMO the SB would shove a jack since that would give him the nut straight. MP1 has not played the hand like he was holding two spades.
