River Line>??????????
Do you usually call when people donk into you on the river here when the flush hit. I hold nut straight but is there a reason to raise.
I usually do but lately have been wondering what the better players would think villain is calling station as is 2/3 of pokerstars no stats yet on him but he's a donk trust me. Plus I think PF limping my hand on the button is more profitable then rasing after a limper especially. thoughts on that too If you wouldnt mind Ty in advance Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.20 Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter Pre-Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN) UTG calls, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds, UTG calls Flop: (7 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB calls, UTG folds Turn: (4.5 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls River: (6.5 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets, Hero ????? |

Re: River Line>??????????
The villain is probably a level one thinker and has put no thought into what you hold. He just made a flush, two pair, a set, or a straight. Of these I think a flush is the most likely followed by 97 for the straight.
I think raising here is OK if you can fold to a 3-bet from this calling station. However, in practice I just call here because I don't like folding straights heads up on the river. This is the low variance approach and I =am most likely losing value here. |

Re: River Line>??????????
I don't iso-raise with a hand like this. I'd limp it.
On the river, I think this is an easy raise, and I call a three-bet. If villain just rivered a backdoor flush, I'm going to have to lose some money, but I think this is a spiked set, a rivered two pair, a smaller straight, or just a randomly weird play much more often than it's the flush. |

aaron, that's nice, so what is your advice to him [/ QUOTE ] What is the range of hands for a calling station that donks a straight and flush card? It's probably something like 55, 97, and flush. If you raise, you have to raise/fold. Otherwise you can just call. If you think you have to raise/call because you don't have enough of a read to call him a calling station to allow you to raise/fold, then just call. |

Re: River Line>??????????
really raise fold river, thats the line?
I thought maybe he has flush, but you dont think any value is missed by not getting 55 or 97 to pay 3 bets, is it always a raise fold. Obv raise call situation but raise fold not so obv I think? IDK |
