Re: Hold \'em Poker for Advanced Players
I'm looking to learn and get good at limit. I want a book that gives good foundation in the game.
I already have Small Stakes Hold'em and have a good understanding of general poker thory. |

Re: Hold \'em Poker for Advanced Players
It's the best liimit book ever written. While it's a bit dated, there is still plenty of great material in the 21st century edition. The material is best applied to mid-stakes games from 15-30 to 60-120. If you've read Ed's SSH, then this is the ideal book to go to next.

Re: Hold \'em Poker for Advanced Players
Solid book. It was written before the NL Boom. Some of the concepts could probably be used for NL, but I haven't read it in over a year. I don't think that the Heads Up part is that good.
But yes, if you are playing Limit, it is a mandatory read, and it most certainly would not hurt to read it if you are focusing on NL. |

[/ QUOTE ] completely agreed, very good thorough book, i have stoxtraders book on the way now cuz holdem for advanced players talked alot about tight play and stuff, where stox's book talks way more about changing play to beat the much harder games. I cant wait |

Re: Hold \'em Poker for Advanced Players
great advice: real the hold em book and theory of poker, then hold em for advanced players, then stox's book, they are things that i think should be taught in order
