Re: OOP late in 4/180
why are you open over-shoving this flop?
you're only getting called if youre beat. maybe T9h but realistically its a horrible move. raising this preflop is horrible if you cant play after the flop |

Re: OOP late in 4/180
Your thread title says it all.
Fold Kxs in EP PF. Raise/steal with it in LP and blinds. That is all. |

Re: OOP late in 4/180
i appreciate everyones advice.
i guess the overshove was terrible. whats the better play c-bet 1/2 pot or c/r all-in or ,c/c push turn. im unsure how to proceed when this shallow. is it better to just wait for good cards rather than take lots of shots at the blinds |

Re: OOP late in 4/180
its not just about waiting for good cards. its about waiting for better situations.
raising 32o from the button is more profitable than raising K8s from utg+1. when you're raising preflop its either for value (to thin down # of players who will play the hand) or to steal. raising from utg+1 isnt a very optimal position to steal from, so we assume you are raising this for value. the problem with this is that with 6 people behind you, the chance of someone having a better hand, and probably a hand that dominates you, is very high. much higher than say if you were raising to steal with only 2 or 3 people left to act. also with your stack size, playing this weak type of hand out of position, as you found out, is very awkward. so awkward in fact that it led you to just open pushing a flop with a flush draw because you didnt know how else to play it. if this is the case frequently, fold preflop. no one wants to be a nit. we understand that. but raising K8 utg+1 is spew. now, as played i would probably c/r shove or check call. you have 22bb you still have time |
