AA on board with three 8s
Villain is Box of Legos, pretty much a straightforward nit, 20%/7%/2.7 Fold to CBet:68% Call CBet:26% Raise CBet:7%, Fold to steal in BB: 87%. Am I a nit too for thinking I should simply call here instead of push? IMO his line represents huge strength.

Re: AA on board with three 8s
There's not many times he has an 8 with those stats in the BB.
Get it all in. |

Re: AA on board with three 8s
he cant have 88
prob has like a slowplayed KK or something as it isn't likely he continues like this with 44. with a fold bb of 87 or so he doesnt really have 8-x in his range and with such a small flop raise% i think 99 is almost impossible too. |

Re: AA on board with three 8s
it just looks so much like a poorly played overpair. He was scared u had an 8 on the turn when u called his c/r so he bet 1/3 pot as a blocking bet then when the third 8 hit river he decided his overpair was good and made a normal bet. If he had an 8 or 99, why wouldnt he make a normal bet on the turn? He has to assume when u call his c/r that you either have an 8 yourself or an overpair... so PUSH.

Re: AA on board with three 8s
OK, that's what I thought. Results in white below:
I timed down a bit and went all-in. He called with KK. For some reason at the time (i.e. during the hand) I really thought that he had a huuuuge hand, and thought he was too straightforward to not re-raise AA/KK/QQ pre-flop. But after the hand I thought that it's such an easy shove... because 8x really isn't in his range, and if nothing else he's going to have JJ and TT more than 99. The reason I posted this was to make sure my after-hand thinking was not results-oriented. Thanks for the responses. |
