Its quite standard that some jerk will want to see your mucked hand. Its bad form but like previously stated perfectly within the rules. Many players don't even realize they are looking like a jerk when they do it..

Part of the problem is Dealers and Floor don't back up the notion that it is to prohibit collusion and is a privilege not to be abused just for curiosity.

What I have seen happen is some Donk asks to see the cards because he read somewhere he has the "right" and the Floor allows the hand to be shown without explaining further. Then all freaking night people start calling to see hands.

Back in the day about 30 years ago, my dad was a poker specialist, at holdem and stud and such. He played in back rooms, and losing a lot of money was common, like now. But back then he told me that people would ask to see players cards all the time, and if you didn't show, its as if your not coroporating with the rules.

So as time progressed people got pissier when asked, and now nobody asks, so people don't even know you can ask.

An instance came up last year, at the WSOP, where another player who won the hand, called down w/ an A high, and said "I wanna see your cards" the player threw his cards into the pile, which should be a penalty.
