mp1's range could be quite wide as he limped first in. i don't put him on a flush, a set possibly 88 or 55. he makes a big move with an AF of .26 so it's a shove or fold in my mind based off of your reads. and from my experience when a passive makes a big move at me like that, i was 2nd best when the dust cleared fwiw.

I wasn't too happy either when he raised me. But I don't really know how accurate his AF is considering that its a small sample and the AF of a player with high VPIP will be naturally lower. Anyway if we suppose that he is capable of taking this line with other hands than set/flush like 9c9x, TcTx or JcJx or other FD, what's better: shoving, calling and pushing any non-club turn or still fold? Would you be more inclined to shove if the flop was rainbow?

the small sample is all we have to go on, since it what was you put in there. if it was rainbow i'm most likely getting it in. being a flush flop any club is a winner meaning many more outs for villain - if i'm not already behind a set/two pair.
i really don't see him limping first in with and only calling a raise with JJ+. with 99/TT being first in i'd think he'd raise it up at least the minimum. he may have Ax with the A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and getting frisky. this one is chiefly off your gut feel and for what villain has done previously. i might be inclined to fold to the reraise here w/oone of my cards being a club. others will tell you to shove and reload if need be. I agree that it is very unlikely for villain to have AA,KK here. However I think that since his PFR is so low he could have actually 22-JJ based on his preflop actions. But you're right with this AF we can safely rule out at least those overpairs that do not contain a club, maybe he wouldn't raise flop with any overpair at all.

you should make it 3.50-4 preflop being OOP is a big handicap

50/1,6 loves to slowplay his flush.
I think you will see Ac8x or 2pair hands quite often here. IŽd fold and if he makes this move again, there will be a better place to call. |

i think you're behind more often than you're ahead
fold and note the min-raise |

His range is almost any two here. He is your typical loose passive fishcake who plays a ton of hands which makes it very hard to put him on something(in this short of a sample). I'm stacking almost everytime here if he had any aggression, but I think this is a fold considering how passive he has been playing. You can find better spots to get your stack in vs him.

Well, thank you guys for the replies!
So the consensus is clearly to fold here. I hope I will be able to lay it down next time against this kind of opponent . The problem is that I don't think he would raise on the flop without a club/set/2pair and so I don't have the required 40% equity. Plus as you said his range is not really well defined. Anyway here are the results: Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 9 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter BTN: $28.65 SB: $17.50 Hero (BB): $26.75 UTG: $25.05 UTG+1: $51.95 UTG+2: $19.20 MP1: $44.30 MP2: $34.85 CO: $14.50 Pre-Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB) 3 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, 2 folds, BTN raises to $1, SB folds, Hero raises to $2.75, MP1 calls $2.50, BTN folds Flop: ($6.60) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $5, MP1 raises to $10, Hero raises to $24 and is All-In, MP1 calls $14 Turn: ($54.60) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 is All-In) River: ($54.60) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 is All-In) Results: $54.60 Pot ($2.70 Rake) Hero showed Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a pair of Queens) and LOST (-$26.75 NET) MP1 showed J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (a flush, Jack high) and WON $51.90 (+$25.15 NET) Don't really mean too much, but w/e. |
