Re: $25NL TPGK
[ QUOTE ]
I'm down 11BIs in two days and 3,5k hands. So far I've had one winning month after July. I spend a whole lot of time on this game. I even got expensive (for me) coaching. All the facts are saying "quit this game and move on to something you enjoy". If I decide to take one more stab at this game, what would be the thing that could change me into a winning (well... more than 1ptbb/100) player? Some point me to the magic bullet ok thanks. EDIT: lol im so naive [/ QUOTE ] I don't know if the hands you post are a true representation of your style because people often post their non-standard hands. But, with a lot of these hands you are just complicating your game. I rarely call even ip with SCs, let alone 1-gap SCs and/or from EP. I'll call if there are multiple callers, or on the button with loose blinds, or if the villain is very predictable post flop. But, if you don't have these conditions (multiple callers, good reads, etc), just let SCs go or 3-bet them. Hands are much easier to play when you are the aggressor and in control of the pot. I think you just need to simplify your game. Stop calling preflop, don't raise marginal hands from positions off the button, etc. This game is very simple if you choose to keep it that way and it can be very profitable just playing soundly. If you combine good preflop hand selection with moderate competency post flop you can do well at ssnl. |

Re: $25NL TPGK
Raising guy is 20/16 or so, we have no history of 3-betting so I would expect him to fold to my raise if I 3bet. Shorty is donk, could have anything.

Re: $25NL TPGK
raise, only one hand beats you. Do you think villain is raising 3xbet w/ AA? Most people want action w/ AA and don't raise as much. Be the aggressor w/ your monster hand, imo.

Hero flats or raises? [/ QUOTE ] Just raise, you're going broke vs AA anyway ... and you don't AK or QQ fold postflop because an A flops or does not flop. |

[ QUOTE ] Villain is a total donk. Tricky, too - no logic whatsoever. VPIP 55 over smallish sample. But numbers dont tell the truth here. [/ QUOTE ] Pretty sucky. Sounds like the kind of guy who could have JT here. Maybe he even has air sometimes. Two overcard spades is about the worst hand he could have for you. You are about 50/50 against his made hands. I don't like calling. You can't fold. Even though you don't have much FE, you have to push IMO. [/ QUOTE ] I screwed this up. I confuzzled flop and turn. Listen to everyone else instead. |

Maybe the downswing I'm having at cash right now is due to all the fancy plays. All I need to do is play tight and simple and I will make money for sure. |

$50NL - VB 3 Streets Here?
Villain is very loose and passive but over a small sample. 67/11/1 over 18 hands. He open-limped several times already from MP and LP and one of those times he showed down A4o for Ace high after calling a c-bet then checking it down.
Is this enough of a read to go for 3 streets of value?
