FTP seems to have more of a mix of crazy aggro stations. [/ QUOTE ] I've said a number of times how convinced I am that the playerbases are very different between FT and PS, even though I've never played on stars, and how you can almost tell where somebody plays just based on how they answer questions here. It's nice to have a little bit of verification from somebody who has actually played a fair amount on both sites. |

I think F TILT Ps name and the betpot button is to blame.

the betpot button [/ QUOTE ] we have a winner Seriously, betting full pot is an overbet in most situations imo, and thus people on FTP appear more aggro because they're betting more every time they bet, where a smaller amount (2/3rds-3/4ths pot usually) accomplishes the same thing. |

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
yeah but it also makes for a good betsizing preflop in the early stages. And for postflop Id rather have the typical stars 1/5, 1/6 psb-bettor than being hit by a full psb pretty much whenever they bet.
I guess even if overbetting is just as bad as underbetting it def. makes for sick variance. |

Potting preflop on FT is a mistake IMO at least in the turbos.

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
mh... what does it start with? 15/30 no? I wouldnt pot it then with less than 1k effective stacks but is it really a mistake in the beginning?
I mean I was always more inclined to raise 2.5x in the beginning and eventually 2x but I thought it was just a matter of styles. |

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
Actually not varying my raise sizes is probaby a leak I have, I am almost always minraising sometimes with some 2.5xs at 15/30.

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****
They really do seem different, at least at the 33 and 55 level.
I can't figure out which site has worse players, though. I've had more success at Stars but I don't have samples to be near conclusive. If FTP's structure were the same as Stars (in terms of minutes/blinds) I think FTP would clearly be the fishier site. Right now I'm thinking $/hr is pretty player dependent, I can see some players I am familiar with doing better at Stars or vice versa. Keep in mind this is the 33s-55s, I am more confident in my opinion of the skill levels of other levels on both sites, though I've played less games in them. |
