questions about going to china next week?
So I decided somewhat last minute that I'd like to go visit a friend in Bejing. *s/p I'm sure*
Now I'm trying to figure out the visa thing. I'm in San Diego, do I get the visa before the ticket or the ticket before the visa? I'd like to leave asap where's the fastest cheapest/best place to get this all done very quickly. Anybody know good last minute deal airlines to China? Tickets I've found so far have been reasonable but it's always good to save a few more bucks. Is online poker playable in china? Do I need to do that http portal thing? Thanks to any and all help. |

Re: questions about going to china next week?
you need to get your visa ASAP. search online for info, some places can get it to you in a few days. You could always go to the chinese embassy in LA and do it yourself instead of paying a visa agent to do it for you.
as for cheap airline tickets to china ... check korean air. tickets are generally pretty expensive now though, so good luck. |

This company may help in getting visa on short notice, I've used them before: CIBT
China Southern airline has good prices. Short notice - you will have trouble finding bargins. [ QUOTE ] Is online poker playable in china? [/ QUOTE ] Don't know but there are more important, fun, and more interesting things for you do in China than play online poker. Have fun. -Zeno |

Re: questions about going to china next week?
true but poker's my income and I don't want to take the whole month off. I'd rather travel longer and work a little than shorten the trip b/c I'm thinking about money.
Plus my friend has to work so I'll have time during the day. Visa or plane ticket first? |

Re: questions about going to china next week?
u can play online but the connection isnt the best and I used too get booted here and there. I live about 50 minutes from Macau in Guangzhou. Might go play a satty and try an get in the 2500 event. I havent looked much into it, was just gonna go and see what it had to offer, are there lower buy in events as well?
And seriously like the guy said before...ur gonna fly 8,000 miles or so away from home and play online poker? Chill in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai...will change your complete perception of China, and see how fun these places are. Got a hold a me, Ive been over here almost a year. |

Re: questions about going to china next week?
I'll be in Macau from the 25th-30th just for the smaller events. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up for a beer. Cheers.
