Calling preflop is atroci... Sorry! I don't see why you guys think that folding preflop is that horrible. We're calling with a hand that mostly just flops draws when OOP. It's straight cards are gapped. Why are we so in love with this?
I would most likely call too, but I don't think folding is horrible, because I hate being OOP. How do you guys play here if you flop NFD? I hate NFD OOP and I end up check-folding to a PSB a lot |

Unlike you and steve badger, I'm capable of playing draws OOP profitably! If I have fold equity I play them aggro, if I don't I take them to value-town when I hit. Preflop isn't an argument, and it shouldn't be for you. If anything the argument should be whether I 3-bet here.

Could you give a more specific advice on how one can profitably play here if you flop a NFD with no pair or straight draw? Thanks

C/c, make hand + hope villain is on lower flush and get paid off, c/c, miss but bluff or turn other draw, c/r if villain c-bets too much, just lead out as a semibluff against certain opponents, c/f against nitty mcbrunson. can we get back to this flop now please?

He's tight enough that I think he could definitely fold some of his weak 9s if we check/raise, so I don't like that option much and if he's got anything less, he's absolutely gone.
I like just check/calling the flop and turn and then leading the river. If he's got a 9, he should continue to bet and we should get most of his stack, and if he's got something like AK, we probably get one more bet in on the river. |

I think my line here is to lead out on the flop. I think if we c/r him on the flop he'll know the jig is up and won't continue without strong holdings. On this board, I don't think we can count on him 3-barreling us hoping we have some sort of draw, so I'd just out leak on the flop and hope has a peice of it or wants to try something like repping AAA or 9xxx.
I'd lead for $25 hoping to get raised. If he raises, I'd flat call and check any turn to him in hopes of a c/r. If he flat calls the lead then it depends on what fell on the turn; most turns I'd just try to value bet two more streets with 1/2 - 3/4 psb (sometimes I might check tho). If he folds to the flop lead then I suck. |
