Re: Top 25 college football players - who are the last 11?
can Vince Young really be on the list given that he'd have to be a lot higher than Reggie Bush?

Am I the only person who feels like Reggie Bush is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too low? Also you all are forgetting Ryan Leaf. [/ QUOTE ] Bush seems about right to me. He was obv a great player, but it's not as if he had to do it all himself. As for Leaf, he never happened. |

Also you all are forgetting Ryan Leaf. [/ QUOTE ] no we aren't... Regardless of his trainwreck of a pro career, he was pretty sick in college. But top 10 all-time...hell no |

can Vince Young really be on the list given that he'd have to be a lot higher than Reggie Bush? [/ QUOTE ] That's a good question. Part of it is trying to outguess the voter. I think the NC game is so vivid in recent memory and he was so spectacular that it might be enough. And that is a good point about Grange. I'd add Thorpe in part because of the recent book, his heritage and stuff makes him an interesting addition, and he is probably very deserving. In a similar vein I think one of the Bama QBs (I chose Namath) is kind of a surrogate for the Bear, in addition to having a great collegiate career. |

Red Grange at #5 [/ QUOTE ] thanks for the archie support.... i can't really argue convincingly because i was very young at time. BUT there's only been 12 higher vote counts since that we better than lower of his heisman totals (i assume they didn't change the voting totals).... seems like people's suggestions are pretty heavily weighted towards recent time..... didn't check the lists carefully (already announced, or speculation), but anyone for charlie ward? |

Re: Top 25 college football players - who are the last 11?
out of interest, here's a link to the top 5 heisman each year...
http://www.manlyweb.com/sports/footb...sman_votes.htm with all due respect, how can someone have robert smith > archie griffin? i don't even see smith in a top 5.... eddie george > archie, i have no problem with that? interesting to see that marshall faulk was top 5 twice, and i think he got votes at least one other year... how did LSU and/or whole SEC miss on that guy? |
