Re: Douchiest single piece of clothing
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] What the hell is wrong with Che shirts? I own one, it's not the Rage Against The Machine version of Che's picture, but even if it were, who cares? I know who he is, I read his diary and did a thesis/report on him in high school. Please allow me to wear a shirt with a depiction of some one who I think has accomplished a lot in his life without being labeled a douchebag. [/ QUOTE ] Well, you'll only really be labeled a douche by the minority, if that helps you sleep well. [/ QUOTE ] No, it's more like, if you've ACTUALLY studied Che Guevara and know who he is, it's probably okay. To 99% of the people who wear it it's the political equivalent of a Bob Marley poster on their dorm room wall. [/ QUOTE ] I might actually be the only person in this thread who is actually qualified to confirm Nath's statistic. When I was a political organizer for a socialist group, I used to try to go up and talk to people with Che shirts or rage against the machine shirts. I also tried talking to people with different political punk band patches. I had a markedly better success rate with random people who looked mostly normal. The people sporting clothes with political images were all big time fakers. |

Re: Douchiest single piece of clothing
[ QUOTE ]
Nath, Regardless of how much you know about Che a T-shirt is quite possibly the worst possible way to initiate any sort of political discourse. [/ QUOTE ] What makes you think that is the goal of people wearing this stuff? If someone has a pirate tattoo, do you think it's supposed to be a conversation starter to discuss the finer points of maritime pillaging? |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] sweet jesus I hope thats a Halloween costume [/ QUOTE ] It very possibly is. But I take comfort in knowing at any given moment there are thousands of people across this great country (generally clustered in the middle - ) who look exactly like that or worse. [/ QUOTE ] Confirmed. Just got back from picking up a few things at WalMart. |

I guess it would be like wearing a football jersey. |

[ QUOTE ] Sorry but I got you all beat [/ QUOTE ] That is a womans shirt. I agree if its fake, but if you dont like something because you cant afford it, you are the douche. Can I afford a Bently? No. Do i think people are douchies because they drive them? No. [/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing either A. You've never heard the term 'chav' or B. You are a huge douchebag. |
