I think it's silly that people even have a strong opinion on shortstacking. Bad players are just bad players, and good players shortstacking for an extended period are wasting time. So why does everyone care so much?
I regret spending so much time shortstacking, as I would have been better served spending much of that time elsewise. But I'm not going to be ashamed of how I spend my time. I've wasted time on far worse. All of that said, I think any player can learn a lot from shortstacking. First, you learn correct strategy against a shortstack. Second, you get to see a lot of showdowns you otherwise wouldn't, which can give you insight into peoples ranges in some spots. Third, you can get a feel for how a level plays above what you usually play/are rolled for. But just play like 10k hands, not 110k. 110k is a waste of time. |

[/ QUOTE ] because the entire strategy is built around ratholing, a strategy that works because you take money off the tables is terrible for the game of poker and well they have tournaments for people that only want to make 1decision a hand |
