I'd hate to lose a friend out of the deal, but Im feeling this just does not seem right either. Any Thoughts here?.

On the flip side, do you want a friend that you'll always feel screwed you out of cash?

You need to find out a number you both feel is fair. Somewhere between $1250 (10% of his take before tips) and $2500.
