Low doublepair-hands with deep stacks?
was playing some 6max and after some fishes got busted we were 4 players left and all had 150+bb stacks.
it is raised from utg, im bb with 6677ss and everyone has called and it is up to me. is this a call or a fold? with 50bb stacks or so i call normally and if it is against a fish deep i will call, especially if i could peg him on AAxx. but against competent players with deep stacks how good are hands like these? i mean im not happy about getting 200bb in on a 6TKhh-flop, im probably dead to a higher set or slightly behind or ahead of a huge draw. and out of position in a multiway pot potcontrol is pretty hard. what are your thoughts on this? |

I think you summed it up very nicely actually.

Re: Low doublepair-hands with deep stacks?
You still want to call, you're closing the action and you can hit big enough hands often enough to warrant seeing a flop. Sure, you'll get set-on-setted, but you should be able to fold bottom set where other people wouldn't, and enough of the time you'll just jack it in when you hit and be good. I guess I could see a case for folding preflop if you're incapable of ever folding sets on the flop.

raising here is not out of the question either.

Re: Low doublepair-hands with deep stacks?
because people stack off lighter postflop then? like in any 2pair?
i mean considering equity and position, we cant valueraise can we? just 2 balance our OOP-3betting range? do you guys 3b 200bb+ deep ever? i do soemtimes but then only with like QJT9, 5678 and strong highpair hands. |
