Re: linecheck 2/4nl deep with 2p
I think i lose my nerve on this river and check it down...I doubt TT/JJ is going to call this bet anyway, and i think that's your best chance at getting value here.
as played, if he shoves you gotta call. |

Re: linecheck 2/4nl deep with 2p
Only reason to bet this river is if you think he will turn an overpair into a bluff and CR. Can't see that happening though since you could easily have a flush.
What is he supposed to put you on after flop/turn combo that he beats once diamonds get there, that can make him call with an overpair? Looks like a check behind on the river to me. We have the best hand, but he isn't calling a bet with worse I think. |

[ QUOTE ] i mean is river bet a bluff? i just check behind. [/ QUOTE ] erm no? [/ QUOTE ] Ok. What worse hands can possibly call this riverbet after the board came out the way it did? Unless you have some psycho image I don't see him calling with worse, ever. |

Re: linecheck 2/4nl deep with 2p
i'm sorry, I should've described myself as a laggy player, probably 28/21ish who likes to float a decent amt of flops, dry or drawy. Don't think my image is maniacal though, just lag
is that a bad enough image to bet river or because of the diamond should I be checking behind? I'm not afraid of 89 as I can't imagine someone calling 2 bets w/tp 8 kicker with deep stacks. I figure the way he's playing he has overpair as a set would cr AI turn or something. Same w/fd - although it's possible he could be playing it passively. also, had this been a non diamond river, then would a bet be good? |

Re: linecheck 2/4nl deep with 2p
river bet is mandatory. He'll call down with his overpair. If you bet 300-350 and get raised, fold.
This guy isnt turning his overpair into bluff, he wants to to showdown imo |

i mean is river bet a bluff? i just check behind. [/ QUOTE ] Umm ... wtf???? A set would get it in before the river ALOT. Also, there are almost no combinations of sets when we have 2-pr. Not value betting this river seems like a crime. I'm not sure of the amount though. Bigger looks more bluffy, so I think that is actually better - but not totally sure about that bit. Anyone saying check behind on the river, please explain why because I don't get it - particularly when we have 2pr which criples their set range and a str8 and flush are unlikely considering they have to call a HUGE bet on the turn there. |
