Without reads I think I would just call him down.

[/ QUOTE ]

yea, your rasie is probably only getting called if you're beat.

[/ QUOTE ]

nahhh ive never seen QJ fold here. QK also never folds. Neither does a badly played JT.

With no reads, i think you played it fine.

lol. It just reminded me of the last time I played cash at the Sydney Casino (worst casino for poker ever - you win $1500 and you still feel ripped off) and a muppet sitting next to me.

Board was paired, and after he folded (leaving me to win the pot without showdown) he asked what I had. I said, "Quads, of course."

He then told me I was lying, because "Every time I've seen someone have quads they showed it."

Wow, interesting hand. I am sure I would have gone broke on this hand (as I often do w/ 2 pr), villain could have so many better hands. Sometimes I don't mind timing out

the deeper you are, the less value you get from marginal 3-bets. i.e. w/ 100bbs you can 3-bet here and stack happily on a J hi flop and usually get good value on an A hi flop as well. 200bbs deep your reverse implied odds are just obscene here since almost no one is stacking off w/o TPTK or an overpair at the very least this deep.

yea, basically.

Also, against a 31/10 or whatever he was, even 100BB deep you have waaaay more value by calling PF. You're folding out all worse A's and Js when you reraise and hes calling with lots of things that dominate you.

By calling, you force him to stay in with weaker As and no one ever folds top pair, so you can make lots of monies.

And don't be afraid to c/r bluff some random low flops. He doesnt hit them very often and you pick up a lot of pots very easily.
