Re: Who is the worst QB to start for a top 10 team?
[ QUOTE ]
Rex Grossman wasn't just a very good college QB, he was a dominant college QB. This thread is ridiculous, you can't just name guys who couldn't translate college success into the pros. It's Morelli, though. Yee gods is he terrible. [/ QUOTE ] Moreilli can't be that bad, hes probably one of Ohio State's leading scorers in the last few years. |

Re: Who is the worst QB to start for a top 10 team?
Nah, I really was thinking of Grossman's college performance when I posted his name. I lived in Gainesville for a couple years when my ex was going to UF and had to watch him every week. He drove the Gator fans nuts and was overrated by the rest of the country. Calling him the worst QB for a top 10 team ever is an exaggeration, but he certainly wasn't dominant. He had the same bipolar performances as ever and should've taken a lot more of the blame than Zook did at the time. The guy constantly made terrible decisions as far as not knowing when to take a sack or throw the ball away. I was amazed that he left school early and was picked in the 1st round and not surprised at all by his poor performance in the NFL.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Initial nominees: Eric Crouch Craig Krenzel Charlie Ward Steve Bellisari [/ QUOTE ] Those are some good choices, but they're not as bad as these guys: Peyton Manning Vince Young Matt Leinart Carson Palmer Michael Vick [/ QUOTE ] You forgot about Donovan McNabb. Only reason guy got any pub at all was that he was a black quarterback. [/ QUOTE ] A+ |

How is 2006 Mike Teel not getting any more hate than just me?

Re: Who is the worst QB to start for a top 10 team?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] John Navarre was pretty bad. [/ QUOTE ] Not the year we were actually top ten. He was very good, not great or anything, but very good. Griese was worse his senior year, but since he didn't really have to do much other than not turn it over and complete swing passes, he gets tons of credit. That really reminds me of how rating players by win-loss records is silly. Griese was 3-0 against OSU and was mediocre to awful in all 3 performances (9-18, 100 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs in 95), Henne's been decent to good in his 3 and is 0-3. [/ QUOTE ] I also wanted to nominate Navarre for this thread. He had his moments (thanks to B. Edwards) but few and far between. He threw the ball too hard, too high, and had way too many balls batted down at the line of scrimmage. |
