so the river bet is for value? Why not just turn your hand over so the villan knows you are holding ATs-AK because thats exactly what your hand looks like on that river.
check behind, he is raising hands he beats and folding everything else. He might play a flush this way as well, once the A hits its EASY for him to get sexy on that river. Pre-flop can be kinda hot, ignore those who say otherwise. Its very situational, if the situation was right then go for it. flop - I won't even bother because its been said before. |

On the river, after he checkraises, look at him, start laughing, and insta-3bet him. He'll put you quad 4s for sure, because he won't give you credit for being dumb enough to check any other hand behind twice.

[ QUOTE ] Pre-preflop: Michael Jackson is a solid play. You could also raise Prince. [/ QUOTE ] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I got a lion in my pocket and baby he's ready to roar [ QUOTE ] Preflop: Thin 3-bet considering your read, but whatever. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I have a minor peeve with this comment. The 3 bet is -ev here, not thin. [/ QUOTE ] I have to disagree with this. I hate the way he played this hand, but the three bet is correct against practically all opponents. It is positive EV if he is a slight underdog to the opponent's range. AT suited will not be more than a slight underdog to nearly any good player's open raise range from the hijack. If he is raising with only the top 15% we have over 49% equity. Our $60 investment in the $145 pot is only about 42%, that's positive EV. If the guy is only raising the top 10% from the hijack (unlikely), then its close but still positive. We'd have about 43% equity. |

If you are going to 3-bet a player as you describe, there is no reason to even look at the board until you get checkraised somewhere. The whole point of 3-betting on the light end of his range is to put him in the position you put yourself in.
