Re: someone please tell me a made the right laydown, please
Anybody who says to fold AJ pre to a button raise is a fool.
This is a perfect spot to shove pre. |

Re: someone please tell me a made the right laydown, please
You must have concluded that he made a flush when you went into the tank, however, since you snap-called him on the flop, I would think he would have at least make a small value bet on the turn, especially since the board is paired allowing you the chance to draw out on him. Also, an overcard on the river might dry up his action if he has a flush or a flush card on the river might also be bad for him, either by you making a higher one, or drying up his action if he has a high one. If he checks a better hand than yours (like A3, AA, KK, QQ) on the turn, fearing you made a flush, then he is just going to call your river bet. Since he showed you the red A, I think his other card was a big club and you were bluffed. It's possible he just showed you one card, so as not to reveal the flush draw aspect of his play, but wants you to know you were bluffed to put you on tilt. |
