against tomtom I think that you should check/fold the turn. He's TAP, not TAG [/ QUOTE ] I just thought that most players bet the Q turn card w/ AK here. |

As played I fold. If I call here I fully expect to get shown AQ or better like 80% of the time here cos I think AK absolutely fires that flop most of the time after RR pre (unless he's VERY nitty or you image is super-lag) making it unlikely. Throw in a few random monsters 77/88 etc and I think its a pretty easy fold tbh.

It feels like you're behind on the river to AA-KK, AQ, KQ. I could see him occasionally checking behind the flop for pot control and deception with AA-KK, although I agree I wouldn't normally expect it. On the other hand, I could see him checking AK behind on the river a lot.
Was your plan to play it passively post-flop if low cards hit? I don't understand: why didn't you at least bet the turn to protect your hand? I would have bet either the flop or the turn. Finally, I'm not crazy about playing this passively if you're going to call the turn and fold the river. That is, as played, while I think it's a fold on the river, that probably means it is on the turn, too (again, though, I would have bet the turn). |

[/ QUOTE ] i agree, most do, but the river is something else, yea, it might not be as close as i first thought, this prolly is a fold even more now |

I could see him occasionally checking behind the flop for pot control and deception with AA-KK [/ QUOTE ] these two things are mutually exclusive imo and OOP without the lead his flop and turn and river checks are all super standard and are how i would play this hand against almost anyone without history |

betting the turn wouldn't be bad, he can easily have TT or 99 or smth here going for pto control on flop

That is, when I check behind for pot control with a strong hand on the flop, it is deceptive not only for this hand, but also when I do the same thing in the future. I get your point about c/c oop, but here I think it's pretty likely Villain is ahead on the turn, and I would want to bet for protection. |

bet the turn here. seems like the best line given you know if you call the turn you are checking the river, and he is gonna bet like 100% of his range.
