Re: Bottom set on fairly dry board
Raising is a must here.
Re-pop to like $125 and get it in on any turn. Hopefully he just shoves right away. |

Re: Bottom set on fairly dry board
i make it 144 - you want to get as much in here as possible so build a big pot

Re: Bottom set on fairly dry board
It's tempting to just call, and then push the turn. However, with the draws out there, I'd rather 3-bet. You may still get action with a big combo draw, or even AQ or KQ.

Re: Bottom set on fairly dry board
if hes lag as in AG post i would just call here actually (unless hes so AG that hes gonna semi bluff shove a 3bet then i would try and induce that)
if hes a retarded LAG whose not really lag but just loose and stupid i would 3bet here bc i think he may be minRing flop to get to a free river (which obvi isnt the case) but then he just c/c and u loose soem value |

Re: Bottom set on fairly dry board
Calling is ridiculous, pump it up. 110-120ish is what I'd do.

Re: Bottom set on fairly dry board
I actually think calling is good here for a few reasons...
1. You have position and therefore control of the hand. 2. You arent super deep so need to build a huge pot on flop. 3. 3-betting takes him out of the lead in the hand and stops him firing away with whatever crap he might have, which is not best IMO. 4. He probably overestimates his fold equity given you could easily (to him) have a marginal hand such as JQ/KQ/clubs given the action, meaning he is more likely to fire turn big. 5. And depending on turn card (i.e if you boat) you could even potentially slowplay a touch again, giving him even more chance to spew chips on river. (if you feel like being sick). ..hence why I like a call over a raise. |
