NL400 - Top two vs. ultra-passive
NL400 5-handed
Villain has $300, I cover. I have extensive notes on him from .5/1 all the way up to 2/4 (he usually plays 2/4 now when he's on, and only single-tables). He limps often preflop (but not with total garbage and random hands, mostly suited cards, weak Aces, etc.) and only leads out or bets flops when he's raised preflop (which I rarely see him do without big pairs like QQ+). Most of all, he check-minraises most if not all his monsters post-flop on one street then shoves the next street regardless if it's a huge overbet of the pot. Is this still an EZ-call considering only one real hand beats us despite our notes? Table is loose-passive for the most part, probably why I didn't raise Button though I do a fair amount of the time. Villain limps, CO limps, Hero limps with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], SB folds, BB checks. Flop K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, Villain checks, CO checks, Hero bets $13, BB folds, Villain calls, CO folds. Turn 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero bets $40, Villain raises to $80, Hero calls. River 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain goes all-in for $202, Hero... |

Re: NL400 - Top two vs. ultra-passive
well then go off your read and fold unless a monster to him is K2 / J2 etc. And I wouldn't discount 22, he has a pair on the flop after all.

Re: NL400 - Top two vs. ultra-passive
Raise PF to isolate the moron. I don't really see there being much of an alternative in this hand.
As played, not sure. I mean, I guess if your notes are true then I suppose folding could be fine here. I'm not one for making great folds though so... |

[/ QUOTE ] The worst I've ever seen him limp and showdown was A8o on the Button at 1/2 6-max after 2 other limpers, and on that hand I actually had 66, completed SB, BB checked, flop came 886, I checked, BB shorty shoved for 15 or something, he cold-called, I made it 40, and he minraised there/called my shove (rivered an A obv.), so he didn't have the nuts there but a pretty big hand in an unraised pot nonetheless. |
