Check up of general game in 3-betted pots
I have three scenarios where the pot is 3-betted and I want to know what your action is. All the pots are heads-up and villain is a standard TAG - i.e. playing with stats like 21/17/4 - and you are also a TAG. There is no especially history between you, you have no good reads on the other players at the table, the level is NL400 and everyone has full stacks.
<font color="blue"> Scenario A: Villain opens for $14 on the button and SB folds. You are in the BB and raises to $48. Villain calls. Flop is: I) Q82ds II) J82r III) A92ds You bet 3/4 pot and villain makes a re-raise that commits himself. My quesions for you: What is you re-raising range pre-flop? And what is your pushing range on flop? </font> I will give you the other two scenarios after this one has been discussed. |

Re: Check up of general game in 3-betted pots
On a general note I would 3-bet a bit bigger oop. Standard reraising range would be any pp, AQ+, adding scs and other big broadways in from time to time but this should really depend on how he plays post, recent history, etc.
Default on the flop: in a vacuum I think we would felt TP+ hands on any of those boards. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ya, I think that's pretty much my standard ATM. I agree with that it's a good idea to 3-bet a bit bigger. However, sometimes I dunno if it's good to go broke w/ KQ or QJ on Q72r b/c we will be [censored] very often. On the other hand KQ and QJ belong to the better hands in our range and it would be very explotiable if we fold them - but untill someone actually exploit it, it isn't a problem and maybe we should just fold if we are behind his range in a vacuum. By the way I have seen people 3-bet w/ Axs from time to time. What should our general plan be on a Axxds and Axxr flop? I really don't have a favourite line. My standard ATM is bet flop and don't put any more money in. |

Re: Check up of general game in 3-betted pots
I know you specified no special history between hero/villain, but my 3-betting range depends on his att to steal % and how wide I perceive his 3-bet calling range to be. Some 21/17s will be stealing about 22% and I'll respect it to a large degree, others are stealing 40% and will give up to 3-bets so I'll play back a lot more...

[/ QUOTE ] Ya, that is true - this is very opponent depending. But sometimes you haven't got a good read on your opponents and thus it can be good to have a standard line for those spots. |
