Definitely feels like a call will cost you $288 (as well as the pot) here, more often than you'll catch the guy on a bluff or marginal hand (involving the Ac). I would definitely want to know that this guy was capable of big bluffs on the river before I ever called. But then I am occasionally a bit of a pussy...

I did wonder whether betting out on the flop might have made your decisions easier but I doubt it. I would have c/c'd the flop and turn myself. I hate building pots, out of position on a flushy board like this with just TPTK and no draw.

The only thing I would have done differently is to have raised a little bit more pre-flop, though. Imo, 3x the BB tends to give the impression that you're a little more serious about your hand without being an overbet that suggests you're on a steal. Villain probably wouldn't have folded anyway, if he had a hand like KQ or a big A, but it may make a difference in some situations.

spewtastic call on the river, the turn is close vs this type of opponent.
