I know quite a few people with Black cards but the play a lot more then just poker and they have no problems getting rooms whenever they want them. Most of the time they dont even have to ask they just get the vouchers mailed to them.

Sorry about the misinformation about the room rates I knew it was somewhere around 100-150 area for regulars during the week.

Jeffage has most of the details. Some additional randoms....

It is $100 for Sun-Thurs. You usually don't need to book ahead - though for some reason, this past Sunday, nothing was available at the poker rate.

For the weekend it's $125, but those almost always have to booked ahead. You can try bothering the floor and asking day-of if something popped up, but that doesn't work too well.

I've had 500+ hours this year of 10/20 or 1/2 and do not qualify for weekend rates.

My brother has ~100 hours of a mix of 2/5, 5/10, and a touch of 10/25 and he not only gets weekend rates, but also gets concert ticket offers. All I got was a stupid Maxim subscription. He also got his black card just for sitting at the 10/25 while he was waiting for a 5/10 seat to open up and the floor offered it as a consideration for the wait.

Me, even though Joe is really nice to me, he wouldn't reissue a black card until I was 975+ comp dollars for the year. (I let my play lapse while on six month break)

No play requirement anymore.

I once got a free room by collapsing in front of the slot machines right near the escalators, back when the poker room was downstairs. Security brought me up to a room in a wheelchair.

I used to be in the same situation. I played higher limits regularly and had a black card but still only received Sunday-Thursday poker room rate offers. Stan the poker room manager and Mabel the host fixed this for me.

If you log a decent number of hours of play, Stan will SOMETIMES give you a black card. It can't hurt to ask him to do so.

Mabel the host gave me her business card and cell phone number. When I want to reserve a room at the poker rate on a weekend, I call her cell phone rather than the reservation line (if I call the main reservation line, I am denied the poker room rate). I don't know if Mabel gives her cell phone number out to anyone or only to certain players; again, it can't hurt to ask.

I play 5/10 NL weekly and do not qualify for weekend rates. I never stay over on a weekend, so I don't push the issue.

Wow, good deal. Def would have thought they would have wheeled people out if they collapsed in front of a slot machine. Borgota scores more points in my book.

Even all black card holders aren't treated the same. I get the $99 room offer good Sun-Thurs. but don't qualify for the $125 weekend poker rate. I earned my black card strictly logging mucho hours in the poker room.
Chumps who log hours @ table games or god forbid - slots get much better offers. They really don't offer much to poker players, period.
Nontheless, the $10 buffet or the Amorphora lounge/buffet and the free parking make the black card worth having.

A/c is quite different then the rest of the world. It seems that if you stay a week or more, that saturday night's cost is more then 4 week days at most places. To me thats crazy. Is there an extended stay with a weekly rate or something like that near casino's?

Try the Sheraton. They have better rates than the casinos.

I'll put up another vote for the Sheraton. It's quite a nice hotel, in the upper end of Sheratons nationally. The rooms are modern and well-appointed, unlike a lot of the tacky/worn rooms at some AC casino hotels. Of course, the Borg's rooms are probably even nicer (I've never actually been in them) but you'll save about $200/night on room rate vs. the Borg.
