$200NL: AK preflop deepish
Ive been pretty active/aggro over the last couple of orbits. No history with villain, haven't really noticed him at 17/16/1 over 70 hands

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
hmmmmmm very marginal situation.... I never flat call...
I can sometimes find a fold against this type of villain if I know for certain that he is positionally aware. If not I just 4-bet to about 70 and fold to a shove. |

OP: I almost always just flat call in this situation (i.e. being a bit deep) and play some poker post-flop. If we were 100 BB's then I usually 4-bet/call shove or shove myself. Sometimes I'll just call the 3-bet pf with AK ip with 100 BB's but you sill need to make some moves in that case. |

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
what's his range?
if it's JJ+, a call seems bad since you're getting bad odds, since he'll fold to an A or K on flop, but if AQ or AK is in his range, why not float since you can bluff. |

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
17/16 means that he's basically never flat calling pf, he's raising or folding, so any hand he plays in this situation he's gonna raise it, I think his range would be AQs+/AKo/TT+.
Thus I think you should either fold pf (meh), 4-bet and call a shove, shove yourself, or call and play some poker post-flop (very possibly making some moves on the flop, maybe even floating). 4-betting AK and then folding to a shove is just retarded, that's the same as bluffing with 72o, I mean is villain ever going to flat call our 4-bet OOP? No he's going to shove or fold. So don't 4-bet AK unless you plan to get all the money in. 4-betting AK and then folding is a waste of the equity AK has vs his range. |

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
Pretty easy call. You're deep and can almost always get 1 bet out of an underpair if you hit. If you know about his tendencies with hands like TT/JJ (and maybe QQ), you can also often find profitable bluffing situations where he is afraid to stack off with these when you fight back.

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
i say raise or call, you have position in the hand so that helps alot, he is raising every hand he plays, so this probably includes alot of medium pairs and mayb even AT+ or AJ+ since this is 4handed

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
This isn't deep at all. 4 handed in an aggro game, I'd make it like $65 and be happy to call a shove.

Re: $200NL: AK preflop deepish
I didn't notice that it was 4 handed... folding isn't an option even against this type of opponent
