Re: OOT, What is your life situation?
I turned 25 in September.
I am a professional poker player. Online I am a proposition limit hold'em player, stakes ranging from 2/4 to 15/30, mostly in the upper end of that range. Live I play all forms of limit poker, 15/30 and up to, on one memorable occasion, 75/150 w/ full kill. This is my third year as a professional and by far my most profitable one. I am single. I have, in fact, never had a real girlfriend, just one night stands and awkward quasi-relationships. I'm kind of at a loss for why this is. I am almost never what I would call 'happy.' I am generally 'meh' spiced with semi-regular intervals of 'miserable' or 'flipping the [censored] out.' As best I can tell, this is largely due to loneliness and low social capital. I live among strangers, my work and primary recreation are very poor social outlets, and my friends in Atlanta, in one way or another, simply don't have the time / energy / inclination to be much more than casual, occasional acquaintances. This problem dominates my life and my thinking, yet I don't really have the tools or the temperament to come up with any ready solutions. On the other hand, I do what I please and have more money than I currently really know what to do with, which have got to be serious plusses in a lifestyle. |

(2) poker player/future student, 5/10nl + and tournaments (3) live at home but travel a lot, single and atm prefer it that way (3) happy on a day to day basis. However I am also a success freak and am overall unhappy with where I am but am working to improve this. The hardest part is work ethic. I am happy when I feel like I am working hard and improving myself. |

GG? why is everyone offing themselves? [/ QUOTE ] agreed...unless your name is Heather or you are a gay HS football player, it aint cool. My serious question to those this depressed...is it b/c of lack of friends, no gf, or ?? I remember when i was this age, i was unhappy inside b/c i was not living to the potential i knew i had, but i didn't know what that potential was to be nor how to get there. I know my solution is not for everybody, but i moved from Missouri (KC) to So Cal. California is so not for most people- but find some type of dream deep inside you, and put everything on the line to make the baby step or giant leap toward that. That could mean being more social and meeting girls. Bookstores are great to start. Suicide is never the answer. It's just representing a 'dying' urge for something/anything to change. Change is where you come in, and do something. |

Re: OOT, What is your life situation?
Good
Furthermore, telling people you're going to commit suicide without serious thoughts of doing so is an attention-whorish very uncool thing to do. If you're actually thinking about it, think about how that would make your mother, father, siblings, or friend feel. They are not good enough to keep you wanting life? |
