new pc .... omg i suck so hard
ok so i need a new pc but i have no clue at all. i read a bit in this forum and i tried to configure my own pc. it would be nice if u could have a look at it and tell me if this makes sense or not. for example: i almost randomly picked a mainboard and a graphic-card so i have no idea wether they are good or not.
is something missing? do i need a soundcard or smt? as a harddrive i picked a WD Raptor w/ 150gb 10k rpm. CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Tray, 8192Kb, LGA775, 64bit, Kentsfield Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 ,Intel P35, ATX, PCI-Express Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Sockel 775 RAM: 4 x 1024MB DDR2 Kingston Valueram PC800/6400 Tower: Coolermaster Centurion5 Schw. CAC-T05-UW ohne Netzteil Power: ATX-Netzt.BE Quiet! Straight Power 500 Watt / BQT E5 Graphic: Club3D X1950Pro, 256MB, ATI Radeon X1950Pro, PCI-Express DVD-ROM:LG GDR - H20N S-ATA schwarz bare DVD-Burner:LG GSA - H66N Retail schwarz/beige SATA Dont know what this is: D-Link DFE-530TX PCI-Adapter Retail,32-Bit,10/100 Mbit NWay Mouse&Keyboard: Microsoft Black Value Pack 2.0 Desktop Set i need this pc for online poker exclusively. now how about monitors? how many of them can i use with this setup? what do i need if i what to use more than 2 monitors? get a 2nd graphic-card? |

get a 2nd graphic-card? [/ QUOTE ] Sure, but check the specs on your current card and see how many ports it has. (Check the FAQ for more info.) [/ QUOTE ] If you have two machines on the same network with the same license, Windows will be able to tell. You're supposed to buy two copies for your two machines. |

Re: new pc .... omg i suck so hard
Mobo is fine, grpahics card is good, but if you plan to play games you may want to go with one that is DirX 10 compatible. Something like an 8600 or 8800

Re: new pc .... omg i suck so hard
Vista causes nothing but trouble imo. Now xp is finally stable, you should stick with xp. Buy vista 2 or 3 years from now, than it might be stable and without glitches.

Re: new pc .... omg i suck so hard
I haven't. I'm studying Computer Science and all I hear from other students and teachers is that they wouldn't advice installing Vista.
