To the dudes discussing Wellbutrin, Lexapro, etc.... did you experience weight gain?

I actually had major weight loss when I started Lexapro, again because when I was really depressed all I did was eat. Also I quit drinking and exercised a ton.

Gained it all back of course, but still.

Wellbutrin actually can help with weight loss. It's a norepinepherine reuptake inhibitor that works by increasing the levels of the neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. These are the same chemicals that make you feel satisfied.

If you ever want any more specific info regarding mood stabilizers or antidepressants, feel free to pm me. I've dealt with having bipolar disorder relatively successfully for the last 16 years.

I'm on Wellbutrin...no weight gain. and it seems to have the opposite effect on me...I took viagra once and the wellbutrin side effects are quite similar in nature.

I have bipolar disorder. It's treated through medicine.
