Re: pushing river
I don't understand your line here.
Preflop: I usually fold AJ after an early raiser, but this is a miniraise and early on and you have position. Flop: Your raise is a little weak here - I would make it at least 250 Turn: after he called your raise on the flop I would try to come to a showdown - so check behind. River: as played i don't see any sense in folding the river as the 9d hasn't changed a lot - 78 is really unlikely after the flop-call - so this looks like a busted flush draw that wanted to bluff you off - and it worked. |

Re: pushing river
what lev said.
PF is fine. bet a little more on flop, like 210-250. Once called, you are heads up, so i think your concern for inducing a bluff on river/keep pot smaller in th event villain has a "5" outweighs the need to protect your hand from a flush draw. that being said, i think you can check the turn. but if you are really worried about the FD, you can bet less than 400 to give him improper odds to draw. now the river shove in this spot is tough. villains range includes busted FDs but it also contains 5s and other As. you have played this hand pretty strong so far which makes me lean towards a river fold. IMO, calling or folding here is marginal. |

Re: pushing river
Anyone else read that villain turn min bet as TPWK?
I bet if you never played AJ after a raise again, you'd lose like zero expectation. -ZEN |
