I tighten up, and I four bet wider out of position. I call wider in position, and fire a lot of 2.5x raises over their c-bets. Edit: Q8o is a pretty standard fold on the button for me, regardless of who is in the blinds. Considering you have a lag in the blinds, it should be an easier fold. Once you 4-bet, I'd probably call. [/ QUOTE ] equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 23.786% 23.53% 00.26% 14905659 163887.00 { Qc8d } Hand 1: 76.214% 75.96% 00.26% 48121815 163887.00 { JJ+, AKs, AKo } I thought after the hand that maybe I should have just called too, but I think the pot odds were 2.4-1 and I was likely more behind than that. Maybe he's 4 betting wider than this? If you're folding Q8 from the button, what are your preflop #s like? That seems like a standard raise to me and I've been at ~24/19 or so. |

Raise and call a shove. [/ QUOTE ] How about just shoving? If not, what amount do you raise to? I think any raise is pot committing, so shoving makes the most sense. |

Re: BvB madness
You could shove. I often shove trying to look like a draw, so I might get looked up lighter.

Re: BvB madness
Cha,
First off, there's no shame in leaving a table if someone is giving you a hard time and there isn't a significant reason (like a big soft spot that you have position on) to keep you there. Forget about ego, if he's getting the best of you, leave unless something worthwhile is keeping you there. As a new cash game player, you've got time before you have to worry too much about how to beat these guys. But ok, let's say there is good reason to stay at the table - then you need to deal with him. And his play sounds exploitable, for sure. Devin covered the good stuff already, I don't have too much else to add. I will say that you should never be 4-bet/folding for 100BB stacks. Tighten up on your opens, and 4bet shove if you think you have sufficient equity to do so. Go work out some math on these types of spots. You will learn a ton by doing so, it can be pretty enlightening. |

Re: BvB madness
Cha,
If you're going to four bet light I would four bet less than pot. Make it like 32 or something. I would do the same then with hands like QQ, AK, etc. |

Re: BvB madness
Cha,
The KK hand - stack sizes are interesting. I might actually just call, and give the SB a chance to make a big mistake. But raise/shove is sensible too. Whatever you do, no folding at any point obviously. |
