I am on the east coast, and I have arrived around 11 pm several times. It is 2 am east coast time and there's no way I could make it all night w/o sleep w/o wrecking my trip. That said, if a hotel isn't busy, they'll let you check in early. I've gotten into rooms as early as 10:30 am midweek.

Never done this, but I've done the opposite and stayed up all night and gotten a flight out at 6 or 7am.

Why not just buy a nice condo when you get there. Offer a few dollars for anything near the strip and you'll probably get it. Soon, they'll be free [/ QUOTE ] Condo Sales Man, all those people above are gonna be mad to hear that. |

Used to do this in A.C. all the time. Worked well, but I was just there for poker. If you're there to party and want to enjoy yourself, then don't go cheap.

Situation: Fly in late Wednesday Night, 11pm or later. Have you ever not paided for a room that night and simply stayed up and played. Then checked into a room Thursday. How early have you been able to check in? What is your overall experience with this? [/ QUOTE ] I did this once and now I do it all the time. The only extra was that I rented a car so I had a place to put my bags and snooze if necessary (it wasn't). |

FWIW, my plan is to drive down to AC, play at the Borgata until my flight at 5PM and arrive in LV at 8PM on Wednesday. Play at the MGM Grand (leave bags with bell services) until the following morning and then switch over to the Venetian until they have a suitable room ready.
But I'm used to playing 30 hour+ sessions. btw, anyone know what's up (i.e. what gathering) with room rates Oct 24-27? I just got an online quote for $699 for a Wednesday night (24th) at the Venetian. Sat was only $499. |

I am doing it this weekend in Vegas. Flying in at 11pm on Friday, going straight to Bellagio where I am staying Saturday and Sunday, playing all night then checking in early. I plan to sleep from around 10am to 5pm. No reason to pay 280 for 4 hours of room. This may backfire however if i start tilting around 5am and have nowhere to go.

standard operating procedure i thought. i have had difficulties checking in early before, though. if you're a night owl and have no issues staying up past 2-3 on a weekend night normally, it can be done. sleep on the plane ride in, drink less than you normally would when you get in, if at all. and if all else fails sleep in the racebook when the east coast tracks open in the morning.
