.5/1 99 line check
Table is loose, moderately aggressive. I guess I should be raising pre, but I'm more concerned about whether I missed potential bets on later streets. Hand was on Everest, which I don't know a converter for.
Preflop: Hero has 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 checks (had posted), MP3 calls, HJ calls, CO folds, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (9 SB) 2 checks, UTG bets, UTG+1, MP1, MP2 all call, MP3 folds, HJ calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, UTG, UTG+1, MP1, MP2, HJ all call Turn: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (10.5 BB) 4 checks, HJ bets, 5 calls River: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (16.5 BB) 4 checks, HJ bets, Hero raises, 4 folds, HJ calls. Hero shows boat, HJ mucks |

Re: .5/1 99 line check
You forgot to raise preflop and on the turn.
You also should probably stop the river action with your raise. Results really can bias the responses you get. |

Re: .5/1 99 line check
raise PF
Turn call is close..most draws won't be folding here so a raise may be better, but getting a billion overcalls here is not horrible either IMO (this really just depends on how likely they are to call 2 if you raise). If you had raised PF, a raise is better here because they will all think that their draws are live and that you have an overpair most likely. river is interesting between going for overcalls or hoping HJ actually boated up w/ something like 96/86, plus the likelyhood of anyone that caught their flush calling 2. Sometimes you can just call and hope someone hit their flush and raises behind you, but raising is most likely the best line here since the most obvious draw came in and people with straight draws are folding for even one bet. |

grunch
At first I was going to say raise the turn. Looking at it though, going for the overcalls was better. I like the river raise because anyone chasing a flush caught it and will call 2. nh |

Re: .5/1 99 line check
I actually would not raise preflop... 9 handed to the flop, you can't have that much equity to be able to raise... Then again I suck at poker these guys probably don't
originally i was going to say raise turn but you got a lot of overcalls nh. |

Your odds to flop a set are 7.5:1, so you could raise pf with any pocket pair for value. [/ QUOTE ] this is wrong because you effectively halve your implied odds by raising pf. |

Re: .5/1 99 line check
Yes, you should have raised pre. With position, you don't have to worry about being able to get away from an unfavorable flop (e.g. 3-bet to you on an AQ3r flop).
Raise the turn. Draws will call any number of bets in a big flop, but once you get to the river, they can't draw any more, so the only hands you're getting more bets out of are draws that hit, and it's more likely the won't hit than they will. |

you effectively halve your implied odds by raising pf. [/ QUOTE ] While this is true, what does it have to do with value-raising a 7.5:1 draw against a likely 8 opponents? |
