I saw the video that accompanied the story the other day. I actually think the course would be a decent model for what more courses should do here. Cheap, ruggged, primitive, kids are employed and play free. And no freaking carts. If I find myself in Kabul I will play there. Won't happen, but I would guess I would have more fun there than some of the resort courses I have played. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Remember plenty of courses in the US had sand greens. Pinehurst originally had them I believe, so did lots of courses in the south and southwest I think. As for short games, I am pretty sure Paul Runyan grew up playing the sand greens and was a short game genius.
