Turn and river play w/ AA 3bet pot oop on paired board.
I feel like a puss for playing it this way but I had zero info on villain and this was just my 2nd time in the blinds at the table.
Not betting the river seems so weak but.... Meh, thoughts? Re: Turn and river play w/ AA 3bet pot oop on paired board.
You are trying to extract value from KK/QQ/AT here, and you're getting stacked by AJ/KJ/TT no matter what, so bet whatever you think this guy will call if he has a hand that you beat. Maybe $100, maybe push. You decide.

Shove river, but I would have just got it in on the turn.

shove turn. people dont give enough respect in 3bet pots on these types of boards imo.

I like chacking the turn to induce a call with hands like 77 etc on the river. I really don't like shoving the turn here.

it all depends on how aggressive you are. this is a spot where a lot of people double barrel relatively wider than they should, so you can do it very profitably here too.

If you check turn villain will call a river shove with any pair. If you shove turn he will get away from ALOT of pairs.
Shove river and NH |

Re: Turn and river play w/ AA 3bet pot oop on paired board.
Both shoving turn or river can be fine imho. He is 'value'shoving a lot of hands himself on turn that he would also call on the turn (AT,QQ,KK). And he might also bluff a few himself (KQ,AQ), or turn something into a bluff (88,99). But you could also make a case for shoving the turn and getting called by KQ, who knows. Also, that way, you risk no more scarecards and suckout cards. The fact that you have two aces makes this a little less needed, so checking turn and calling a shove and shoving the river otherwise yourself and getting called (more often) by AT,88,99 also seems fine.
But whatever you do, don't fold and don't check twice. |
