Beats: This is when you know you are cursed
Hey guys, I'm a donk noob who is making his first post. I have been running bad... real bad and this one particular hand pretty much sums it up. * note, stack size is an approximation to the nearest 100
Tournament blinds are 150/300 ante 25 villian A utg+1 6600 in chips Hero - MP 10600 in chips Villain B sb 16000 UTG +1 raises 3xbb I look and see I have K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I raise UTG +1 2x his bet to make sure no other hand gets involved and that the Villain knows I have a strong hand. SB calls (what is now a huge raise to his SB) instantly. I know someone has an ace somewhere probably. Flop 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] no flush draw and the person would have to be an idiot to call those preflop bets and raises to have 3 4 or any gut shot straight possibility so unless someone hit trips I'm pretty good here and I need to make sure no more cards come out because I dont want that ace to hit cause I know at least one of them has one. U TG +1 checks SB checks Hero bets the pot (5400) SB calls UTG+1 calls all in Hero pushes all in in hopes to nearly triple up or small possibility maybe the big stack will lay down(considering pot odds not likely but you never know) . SB insta calls UTG +1 J J SB QQ Hero KK I"m looking great , no flush draws and no straight draws TURN J RIVER Q GOD DAMN IT!!!, not only was I two outed I was two outed twice IN THE SAME HAND!!!! I have no problem with the play of any of the villains, even though the j's I might have laid down but he had overs to the board so that might be a tough lay down after investing so much preflop, BUT DAMN! HOW BAD CAN ONE PERSON RUN?? I would love to know the odds of having three people at a nine person table having k's j's and q's and then the k's (which are still ahead post flop) losing on the turn and river to both lower hands. That is a near statistical impossibility but I defy all mathematics with how bad I run. and this was just a small sample of the beats I've taken recently |

I 2X HIS RAISE TO SHOW HIM STRENGTH [/ QUOTE ] Yes I 2x raised him because I would think that in total it is a 6x bb raise (keep in mind he raised the BB 3x before the action came to me )So I would get rid of anyone thinking they may have pot odds by calling and also a small enough raise so that the original raiser will call me and I can get away from the hand if an ace pops up. Also I said I'm a rook Noob so give me a break! |
