Re: Personal / dating / whatever life situation general advice thread
[ QUOTE ]
Accept because you don't want to embarrass your brother in front of his girl. And I would accept the Godfather role because it's not the kid's fault he got shietty parents. The kid deserves better. But after the wedding, I would tell the couple to go [censored] themselves [pun not intended] and start working. If they ever ask money for the kid, then make sure you go out and buy the stuffs yourself. [/ QUOTE ] - Godparents are relevant? How often does that happen? - So you don't want to embarrass your brother in front of his girl, but plan on immediately telling him after they get married that they are bums and need to go to work? I'm sure that won't be embarrassing at all. |

[/ QUOTE ] omgomgomg i didn't click on this thread for a while cause... i didn't but this whole kk, gobbom, misst, diablo, quids, etc, xchange is just pure gold i like the, "be there or be square," but "bring your own shoelaces" is genius also, kk don't worry about it too much, as diablo said if she likes you it doesn't matter all that much tr plz |

Re: Personal / dating / whatever life situation general advice thread
My beef with "be there or be square" is that I think the delivery is key to make it good-lame instead of lame-lame, and the written word fails in that regard. Bring your own shoelaces is obviously A+.

Re: Personal / dating / whatever life situation general advice thread
I was watching a movie this afternoon (~5 years old on TBS) and I fell asleep during the commercial since I was up all night. I need to see the last half hour desperately, but I had a date tonight and all the video stores are closed.
I have already tried a uk site with movies, but they don't carry it. I'm really pissed and I need to see the end of this flippin movie. |

Re: Personal / dating / whatever life situation general advice thread

tr plz [/ QUOTE ] about a month ago i tried to invite her to come along to a party my brother was having at his school. i called, left a voicemail, and didn't hear from her until class the next monday, where she apologized (it seemed sincere) for not calling me back and that she had to work that night. this time around, instead of texting me back, she declined via facebook (i made an event on there and she RSVP'd as 'not attending') i assume she'll apologize again in class on monday. so basically my next (and possibly last) move with this girl is to ask her out in person, and if she declines, get my acapella group together via speakerphone and serenade her (i'm seriously considering something along those lines because she's crazy about the office, and would have to love it. i just got to figure out when and how to do it) |

Re: Personal / dating / whatever life situation general advice thread
I prefer sleeping on couches lately because it's small enough that I don't have to miss having someone next to me. That sounds healthy, no?

R, "He is now asking me to be his best man and to possibly be the godfather of his child. Accept or Pass?" Default answer is Accept, because he's your brother. [/ QUOTE ] I would agree with you, except for the fact that OP is no longer just the brother. OP is now the state and his brother is the welfare recipient. Distance should be the goal. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] gobbomom, Most college girls don't have a problem talking with perfect strangers on the first day of class, so its the perfect opportunity to make a great first impression. If you establish any kind of repore with a chick it will be easy to ask her to be partners with you when the group projects come up. [/ QUOTE ] True |
