Re: How many kisses?
Not even in a business meeting? I would think that would border on rudeness, if not just very very awkward in the business world/boardroom.

Re: How many kisses?
You can see why i have not moved up very high in the corporate structure.
I mean I will shake hands, I just don't enjoy it and don't typically initiate the shaking. Kissing would be awkward. |

Re: How many kisses?
LOL, I hear you.
Kissing would be an invitation to lawsuits across the country, totally not doable in the US, IMO. T |

I don't even like the handshake. [/ QUOTE ] Neither do I, but you have to do it. Generally I'd be happy avoiding much touching until on a pound it like a hammer basis. |

T [/ QUOTE ] Funny thing is, it's hard to imagine a more forbidding stiff formality and careful social distance than the Brits are famous for, and they're doing it. I wonder whether we can hold off the onrushing tide of mandatory smooching. |

Re: How many kisses?
i don't ever see myself doing the kissing thing. in informal settings i generally greet male friends w/ dap/handshake, which i can initiate. w/female friends i just follow their lead.

Re: How many kisses?
I could be wrong here but I think the Brits think of the air/cheek kiss as a sign of respect whereas Americans think of it as "OMG, she/he wants to do me" kind of mentality (since we're not used to it...)sexual in nature when it's not. Am I way off base here?

Re: How many kisses?
Speaking for myself, my main thought of it is as the intentionally b*tchy/ironic/phoney Hollywood-ish type of thing, where you actually say "kiss kiss!" out loud and almost touch cheeks to either side. It seems far from a thing you would do for real.
