Re: Simple TPTK hand.
calling the flop is real bad if you dont know what to do when he bets turn because he's betting turn a significant majority of the time. personally id call/call/call

Re: Simple TPTK hand.
This hand is a superb example of why my strategy of goals and reasonable expectations for hands is so relevant in the new world of online MTTs.
Like Bond, I started playing online STTs MTTs about a year ago, after having read up on strategy for perhaps 10 months. What I found bore little resemblance to what I had read. Online MTTs (at least on FTP ) wasn't this tasty stew chock full of donks that everyone portrayed it as. There was a very healthy dose of experienced thinking players at all levels. This turn bet could be 3 distinct type of players: 1. donk with Ax flush draw 2. decent player with AK A9 A2 22 with no flush draw worried about you having backdoored into a flush draw on turn 3. expert player with 99 putting you on AQ AJ low-mid PP and thinking he could take it away from you on flop and now choosing on turn to continue to represent a move as his best tactic to extract value for his set Personally I fold to his 2-bet on flop. Even after my flop bet I have committed very little capital relative to my M. Top pair strong kicker is a hand that I like to lead the action with. And finally I don't feel that AQ owes me much more in this hand than just taking it down on the flop with a single bet. |

Really made no sense since basically no one does this with a weak hand until they're a complete idiot which, unfortunately for me, he was but I didn't realize it. I was likely shoving the turn but his instapot made me think otherwise. Baltostar- Very interesting. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. |

I think the turn is a very easy fold.
