I started abbreviating "No Limit Hold 'Em: Theory and Practice" as TAP in my last post, and I think you interpreted that as "Theory of Poker". Sorry if that was confusing. Anyway, I think that you are right about advanced books not giving you lines to play by rote. It's just that the REM process is so simple, one might be tempted to say that he can "solve" poker (always make the optimal play). People probably come very close to a solution against small stakes online players who are really really bad and exploitable. I'm guessing that a general solution is far away though.
Oh well, just some thoughts. I'm probably going to buy PNL for now. Is there any information on the web as to what will be contained in later volumes or Harrington's cash book? |
