Re: 5nl standard fold?
I'd raise this from the button, though at 5NL you might get 4 callers. I like the flop bet too. On the turn, I'd check behind for pot control, even though it means giving a free card (villain could easily have Q-rag). I'd call this river as the only thing the 8 really completes that beats us is 6-7. If villain calls flop bet with J-9, I'd make a note. If he checks turn with Jh9h, make a note of that too.

Re: 5nl standard fold?
Folding is a disaster as you will see 2-pair (Q8 is a likely hand you will see at showdown here) very often at this level.

Re: 5nl standard fold?
Preflop - You can raise this if you think it will get you heads up. At NL5 it's not likely so limping along in position is ok.
Flop - I like your bet. Noone seems interested in the pot. Good bet size too. Turn - Well this card is bad for you in two ways. One its better than your eights and two it completes a flush draw which is a reasonable to call that flop bet with. I check behind on the turn. River - River you improved greatly. You need to call this. There are a lot of hands besides a flush he will do this with that you beat. |

[/ QUOTE ] 1) retarded 2) this is NL5 (essentially play money). you are correct about raising preflop but 4bb + 1bb for every limper does not apply down there. 4bb + 2bb for every limper minimum. The goal is to get the pot heads up or 3 way at most. This is what works at NL5/playmoney |

Re: 5nl standard fold?
at NL5 preflop is 100% fine, raising preflop will not get this less than 4way.
Again at NL5 I dont like betting into 5 players. Your hardly ever taking this pot down here and may get check raised out of a free card. As played you must check the turn. He either made his draw or has you beat (unless hes playing something like 67). River as played I call. Jamming here is suicide. |

* grunch *
Pre-flop, you have committed a mortal sin. Raise it up with those snowmen. You're on the frickin' BUTTON!. Use it! On the flop, your bet would have had some authority to it if it had been made after a PFR. As played it looks like a standard bet from late position with two rags after everyone else has checked the flop. At least you tried to price out someone with a draw. On the river it's an easy call. If you get shown the flush, well, let that be a lesson to you to play more aggressivly pre-flop for the button. |
