sure it's helpful to learn how to guesstimate equity against certain ranges. but there needs to be a starting point. therefore, it depends on the level of skill of the player involved in the exercise. this is a good starting point, whether you realize it or not.

i guess a person of your "expert" status may not need to see how certain holdings fluctuate in terms of equity when involved in multiway situations. that doesn't mean there are not others in this forum that it will benfit.
