Yeah, next time I'm certainly raising pf but my main question is if I should sometimes look him up or if it's fine to always fold the turn. I think he might be somewhat passive but I really don't know yet.

If you think he's passive and you raise pf and he still bets/3bets or c/r the flop then it is an easy fold IMO - no point in waiting for the turn. A little harder to tell in your situation since you just checked pf, but I would probably fold the turn.

I agree with anti1k

I would raise the button limper and SB complete with 77 everytime pre. As played the flop is a very very easy fold. The pot is tiny and if you are not behind already you will get outdrawn a large % of the time and you have no re-draw.
